学术成果简介

呼吸内科教授，博士生导师，中华医学会顾问。1996年当选为中国工程院院士，现任广州医科大学附属第一医院广州呼吸疾病研究所荣誉所长、呼吸疾病国家重点实验室主任、呼吸疾病国家临床医学研究中心主任。是我国支气管、哮喘、重大呼吸道传染性疾病（如SARS、新型流感等）防治的领军人物。

上世纪70年代，钟南山即开始了对COPD的系统研究，明确了国人的COPD患病率，以及生物燃料对COPD发病的重要作用，组织领导了我国大规模的多中心随机双盲对照试验，研究发现，含琉氢基的祛痰药物（羧甲司坦）能有效地预防慢性阻塞性肺疾病患者急性发作（减小发作频率）。其先后主持国家973、863、“十五”“十一五”“十二五”科技攻关、国家自然科学基金重点项目、WHO GOLD 委员会全球协作课题等重大课题十余项。在国际学术期刊上发表SCI论文100余篇，其中包括《New England Journal Medicine》（IF51.658）、《Nature Medicine》、《Lancet》、《BMJ》、《Am J Respir Cirt Care Med》等国际权威期刊，被引用次数达438次；在中华医学会等机构主办的国家级杂志上发表论文200多篇；出版专著《哮喘：从基础到临床》、《内科学》（全国统编教材）、《呼吸病学》等17部；获得发明专利38项，实用新型29项。先后获得包括国家科技进步二等奖、广东省科技进步一等奖等国家级、省部级科技奖励20余项。

在2003年我国SARS疫情中，明确了广东的病原学，组织了广东省SARS防治研究，获国际上的存活率（96.2%），组织治疗了国内支气管哮喘、慢性阻塞性肺疾病、咳嗽、SARS、人高致病性禽流感等方面的整治指南文件。钟南山教授在呼吸疾病的防治研究方面卓有建树， 2007年成功获得呼吸疾病国家重点实验室立项，2013年牵头组建国家呼吸系统疾病临床医学研究中心。
